The Clan War is over, brought to an end through the efforts of a united Inner Sphere. Victor Steiner-Davion, robbed of his own throne during his absence in Clan space, has settled down into his new role as Precentor Martial of ComStar, content to let his sister Katherine rule... as long as she does so wisely. But things will not remain quiet for long.
Tensions are mounting throughout the worlds of the former Federated Commonwealth as dissatisfaction with Katherine's rule grows. One fiery explosion will set in motion a course of events that will plunge two realms into civil war.
