Clan Jade Falcon has survived the horrific Refusal War between itself and Clan Wolf, but just barely. If new Khan Marthe Pryde doesn't do something soon, the other Clans might decide that the Falcons are ripe for the plucking. She hatches a plan to not only demonstrate that her Clan remains strong but also to strike at the rich worlds of the Inner Sphere. Her target: Coventry, industrial powerhouse of the Lyran Alliance.
Prince Victor Steiner-Davion has his own battle to fight. His sister Katherine has withdrawn the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth, breaking the alliance sealed by their parents' marriage so many years before. And though he cannot yet prove it, he knows that she had their mother assassinated in her mad quest for power. His goal now is to prevent the further disintegration of the Commonwealth and bring his sister to justice.
These two driven leaders will meet at Coventry and the decisions made there will forever change the face of the Inner Sphere and Clans alike.
