The FedCom Civil War is nearing its climax. Hostile forces converge on the world of New Syrtis, capital of the Capellan March of the Federated Suns, forces determined to claim the world for one side or the other. Duke George Hasek has some hard decisions to make: should he support Katherine Steiner-Davion, who sits on the throne of New Avalon as the result of a peaceful but unlawful coup, or her brother Victor, the rightful ruler of the Federated Commonwelth?
But there is a third course of action open to Duke Hasek: declare his worlds neutral and concentrate his forces on defending the realm from possible invasion by the Capellan Confederation. The Duke has some tough choices ahead of him and his decision could affect the very fate of the Inner Sphere.
