Why are you doing this?
Because I have enjoyed the Battletech universe for many years and want to give something back. And as a former academic, this is exactly the kind of twisted project that appeals to me.

Why should I register?
You must be registered with the ComStar Historical Encyclopedia in order to submit entries. If you only wish to read the entries, you don't need to register. Registered users also get the following additional features/benefits:
  1. rate the sourcebooks and novels
  2. receive email notification when new entries are posted
  3. and more to come...

Can't I just copy information from a sourcebook or scenario pack?
No. To avoid any potential copyright infringements, the ComStar Historical Encyclopedia uses only entries written by the fans, using the sourcebooks, novels, scenario packs, etc. as sources, but not using the actual text in those books.

Why don't I see a link ("Claim", "Submit", etc.) for an entry?
There could be one of several reasons why:
  1. the entry has been claimed by someone else
  2. you have 10 entries currently checked out
  3. some entries aren't claimable (mostly ones that say to see another entry)
  4. the site administrator has temporarily turned off this functionality
