An important mining world deep in the Capellan Confederation's Sian Commonality. Nihal was colonized by 2300 and was one of the members of the Capellan Hegemony, though it was cut off from the main body of the Hegemony and special permission was required from the Sian government to travel there. At an indeterminate point thereafter it fell to the Taurian Concordat and was recaptured during Chancellor Arden Baxter's bloody Rim War of 2418-2422, along with Betelgeuse. It has since remained in Capellan hands.
