Early Years

In contrast to that of his older brother, Andery Kerensky's life is a cipher. He was the second son of Aleksandr Kerensky, born almost two months prior to the Amaris Coup. As he had with his first son, Nicholas, Kerensky kept the identity of his new son secret for fear that his enemies would be able to use the child against him. In this way, Nicholas and Andery, along with their mother Katyusha, were able to survive the Amaris years in anonymity in Moscow, Terra.

Once Andery's father had defeated and executed Stefan Amaris and restored a semblance of order to the ruined Terran Hegemony, it became clear that the time of the Star League was over. Kerensky soon realized that the five House Lords would never come to any kind of agreement on a new First Lord and that the trickle of SLDF soldiers who were defecting to the various House armies would gradually develop into a flood. If he was going to save anything from the old order, he would have to take drastic measures. Thus was the Exodus born. It was during the buildup for the Exodus that Kerensky revealed to his followers that he had a wife and two children. Andery, now nearly twenty years old, accompanied his parents and brother as the Exodus fleet carrying the bulk of the SLDF jumped beyond the Periphery and into history.

The first years of the Exodus settlers are not well-known to Inner Sphere historians and the details of Andery Kerensky's life during this time are even more obscure. After demobilizing a large portion of the SLDF, General Kerensky set about trying to build a new society, free from the shortcomings of the worlds they had left behind. Although ultimately a failure, Kerensky's dream began in a spirit of hope. Among those who maintained a position in the armed forces of this new society was Andery, who, in addition to his standard service requirements, accepted a position at the first military academy founded in the Pentagon worlds. It was while teaching there that he met Dana Kufahl, like Andery a survivor of the brutal Amaris years on Terra. Dana had lost her entire family and had been adopted into a Native American group, whose traditions and mystical nature she continued in the Pentagon. Andery and Dana became lovers, despite the fact that their various service commitments led to frequent separations. Still, the two maintained a deep connection and their relationship undoubtedly helped soften the blow of Katyusha Kerensky's death in 2796.

By 2801, Aleksandr Kerensky's dream had failed. Partisan prejudices had once again reared their ugly heads and the society of the Pentagon worlds was rapidly breaking down. The tension increased dramatically after the deaths of both General Aaron DeChevilier and General Kerensky himself that same year. Within two months of his father's death, Nicholas Kerensky called for a Second Exodus, leading those loyal to his father's dream into another exile on recently-discovered worlds a few jumps away from the Pentagon in a region of space known as the Kerensky Cluster. Both Andery and Dana Kufahl were among those who remained loyal to Nicholas and accompanied him on their second exile in less than twenty years. Gathering on the world of Strana Mechty, these loyalists formed the core of what would, over the next twenty years, evolve into the Clans.

Andery's exact role during these years of exile is unknown. Although he was apparently not assigned to any particular Clan once Nicholas had formed the twenty original groups, Andery appears to have worked closely with Clan Wolf. He maintained his relationship with Dana Kufahl throughout this period and grew closer to her and her new Clan Coyote. During a visionquest-type experience, Dana witnessed a mixed pack of coyotes and wolves cooperating to bring down their prey. Inspired by this site, she reported the incident to Nicholas and Andery, who in turn reported it to the leaders of Clan Wolf. This led to a close connection between the two young Clans that would continue for several centuries. During this time, Andery also contributed his genes to the nascent eugenics program ordered by Nicholas. Although his genetic material was not given to any specific Clan at this point, Andery nevertheless became the progenitor of one of the original 803 Clan Bloodnames, ensuring his continued contribution to future generations of Clan warriors.

By 2821, Nicholas Kerensky and his Clans were ready to retake the Pentagon worlds, which had sunk into feudalism and poverty as the result of two decades of civil war. Just prior to the launch of what was termed Operation Klondike, Nicholas announced to his followers that he would use the results of the upcoming battles to determine to which Clan his, his wife Jennifer Winson's and his brother Andery's genetic materials would be gifted. In this way, the ilKhan hoped to inspire his troops to greater feats of glory and heroism. Nicholas himself fought with several Clans, including the Wolves and the Jade Falcons, during the ten months of fighting, with Andery presumably at his side. The battles for the Pentagon worlds were brutal, but the Clans were ultimately victorious. However, Andery Kerensky did not live to see the culmination of his brother's plans. During the final fight on the world of Eden, he was ambushed by five BattleMechs and killed.

In the aftermath of the Klondike campaign, Nicholas Kerensky attached himself to Clan Wolf, entering the genetic materials of himself, Jennifer Winson, and his brother Andery into that Clan's breeding program. Dana Kufahl fell into a manic-depressive state upon learning of her lover's death and in recognition of the deep connection between Dana and Andery, the Wolves to this day allow the Coyotes use of Andery's genetics in combination with those of Dana Kufahl, although with special conditions apparently attached. The manner of Andery's death inspired his brother to emphasize one-on-one combat among the Clans to prevent the same kind of ganging up on an opponent that killed Andery.
